Miss C.E. MacLeish has completed a three years and
nine months engagement at the General Hospital Colombo
from 1904 to 1908. During that period the Reports re-
ceived stated that she was a good conscientious nurse and
understood her duties.
The Reports also inferred that
Miss MacLeish was rather difficult to manage, but the
Committee of the Colonial Nursing Association consider
allowance should be made for the fact that when the present
Matron took over her duties at the General Hospital
Colombo, she found that the whole of the Nursing Staff had
got rather out of hand.
It is also in Miss MacLeish's favour that she was
invited by the P.M.0. to remain nine months beyond the
date on which her agreement terminated.
Since her return home in 1908 Miss MacLeish on the
advice of the C.N.A. Committee applied for further work
at her old Training School, The Westminster Hospital,
where she has been working on the Private Staff for the
last six months.
